Chiropractic Care Week 2011 | Posture And Mobility

This week is national Chiropractic Care week, an initiative aimed at increasing the awareness of spinal health and its essential role in a healthy active lifestyle.

The theme of this years campaign centres around posture, the window to your spine, and its affect on mobility. Never has the need for activity and movement been as important as it is now, with increasing technological advancements and sedentary behaviour in today’s society. We are designed to take over 20,000 steps/day, yet the average Australian only takes about 9,700 steps/day . This fundamental lack of activity is leading to a rapid increases of preventable lifestyle related diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and hypertension.

Our Manly Chiropractors started off Chiropractic care week with the Manly Scenic Fun Run on Sunday and will be holding a number of health talks with local groups and community members throughout the week. The human body was designed for movement, so to keep your spine at its best, we should stay active. In other words, a healthier spine means a healthier life!
